Import Avatar

Operation Method

  1. To import Metahuman or FBX avatar, drag and drop the avatar file into the Content Browser.

    ※Note: If the FBX avatar has animation, you need to activate the Import Animations option on importing it.

    • How to import Metahuman?

      1. Click the Quickly add to the project menu on the top and select Quixel Bridge

      2. Sign in on the Bridge

      3. Go to Metahuman tab and download the avatar you want

        If you want to modify a Metahuman, you can do so by selecting the Metahuman you want to base it on and using the START MHC(MetaHuman Creator) that appears on the right.

        For natural simulation, I recommend you delete the garment that the metahuman is wearing.

        After modifying, click Export to move it to Unreal Engine.

  2. Drag and Drop the avatar file to the viewport

    • When you use FBX avatar

      Import

      You need to drag and drop the Skeletal Mesh

      Animation

      1. Select the avatar on the Outliner to assign the animation on the FBX avatar.
      2. Go to the Animation tab in the Details tab that appears at the bottom.
      3. On the Animation tab, set Animation Mode as Use Animation Asset and set the Anim to Play as Animation Sequencer.
      4. You can see the animation by pressing the Play button at the top.

      Animation Speed

      You can control the animation speed by changing the PlayRate

      1.0 is the default value, and it means 100% of speed. If you want to slow it down, you can decrease the value.

  3. Click the avatar and set the avatar’s transform(location/rotation) value as (0,0,0)
