Custom Fabric

Overview

Custom Fabric is a function for importing fabrics of various formats to add in the Fabric Materials list.

 

Location

Left Panel > Fabric > icon / drag&drop

 

Operation Method

Creation

  1. Click  mceclip1.png via Left Panel > Fabric to select a fabric material.

  2. Or drag-and-drop a supported file format via Left Panel > Fabric > My Library.

    ※Note: Supported formats: u3m, xtex, png, jpg, tif
  3. You can check the fabric added in the Fabric Materials list.
    Physic data included in u3m is saved via Right Panel > Properties > Physical Properties > Preset.

 

Fabric Application

  1. Select the surface to apply fabric in All/ Surfaces Selection Mode.
  2. Double-click on the fabric to apply via Left Panel > Fabric > Fabric Materials.
  3. Or click file browser via Right Panel > Properties > Pattern
  4. The applied fabric will appear in both 2D canvas and 3D viewport.
    ※Note: Fabric texture in 2D canvas is shown with texture activated via the 2D menu.

 

Components

u3m

A file format that includes the repeat size, map, and physics.
Importing a u3m file loads the included map with the repeat size, map image, and material properties.
Properties are saved via Right Panel > Properties > Physical Properties > Preset.

 

xtex

A file format that includes the repeat size and map.

Importing an xtex file loads the included map with the repeat size and map image.

 

png, jpg, bmp

These image file formats can be used to create new fabrics.
Importing these file types will use only the base color in the loaded image.
Set items other than the base color by following the settings below.

※Note: 8-bit/16-bit BW images cannot be used for base color map.
