Simulation Environment

  • Updated

Overview

Simulation Environment is a function for controlling external factors that can affect the simulation.

Location

Right Panel > Simulation > Advanced Settings > Gravity
Right Panel > Simulation > Advanced Settings > Air Resistance
Right Panel > Simulation > Advanced Settings > Ground Plane
Right Panel > Simulation > Advanced Settings > Wind

Operation Method

Gravity

  1. Control the gravity with a slider or input values on UI Panel > Simulation > Advanced Settings > Gravity.
  2. You can check the changed gravity when running the simulation.

Air Resistance

  1. Enable via Right Panel > Simulation > Advanced Settings > Air Resistance.
  2. You can check the air resistance when running the simulation.

Ground Plane

  1. Enable via Right Panel > Simulation > Advanced Settings > Ground Plane.
  2. Extend the ground plane tab and adjust it to the friction of the ground plane or adjust the height of the ground plane with a margin.
  3. You can check whether or not the ground plane is applied when running the simulation.

Wind

  1. Enable via Right Panel > Simulation > Advanced Settings > Wind.
  2. Extend the wind tab to adjust the wind strength and direction.
  3. You can check the wind blow in the set direction when running the simulation.

Components

Gravity

This option controls gravity.

Air Resistance

You can change the air resistance of surfaces. When used with the wind function, natural wind effects are possible.

Ground Plane

This function recognizes floor as a collision factor.
Disabling ground plane recognizes that there is no ground during simulation regardless of the set floor image set via Right Panel > Rendering > Environment.
Enable the ground plane to obtain the effect of materials dragging on the floor like a long dress.

Friction This function is for setting the friction of floors and surfaces. The higher the friction, the less the surface is pushed.
Margin This function sets the height of the floor. The height of the floor set via Right Panel > Rendering > Environment is fixed, and the distance from the floor can be changed by adjusting the margin.

Wind

This function is to give a wind effect in the simulation.

Direction The final direction of the wind can be set by adjusting the X/Y/Z values.
X/Y/Z values show strength and not direction, so it is irrelevant to wind strength.
Strength

This function is for setting the wind strength.
Strength can be set between 0% and 100%. The heavier the fabric, the stronger it must be set.
To apply stronger wind for some or all of the patterns, set the wind lift/ drag strength higher via Surface > Right panel > Fabric > Advanced Physical Properties.
