Pleats Angle

Overview

Pleats Angle is a function for applying an angle according to the pleats rule in inner curves when making pleats.

 

Location

2D View > 2D Menu > Pleats Angle

 

Operation Method

  1. Create pleats pattern including inner curves that will apply the pleats angle.

  2. Go to 2D Menu> Pleats Angle.

  3. Click on an empty space outside of an inner curve to create a starting point.

  4. Dot the following point to draw the pleats line that penetrates the inner curve to apply the pleats angle.

    ※Note: Pleats line can be created with multiple connected straight lines.
  5. Right-click to complete the pleats line.

  6. Select your desired pleats type (knife/ box/ accordion) in the Pleats Angle dialog box that appears afterwards.

  7. Set the angle to apply to each segment in Details.

  8. Use Flip/ Reset/ Reverse Direction as needed.

  9. Press Ok to check whether the angle was applied by the color of the inner curve in 2D view.

    • Blue: 180º (flat plane)
    • Yellow: <180º (folds inwards)
    • Violet: >180º (folds outwards)
  10. Simulate to check whether inner curves with angles are folded properly.

 

Components

Knife

This option is for applying knife pleats.
The inner curve angle is first recognized in default state of 0º, it repeats in the order of 0º - 360º- 180º.

 

Box

This option is for applying box pleats.
The inner curve angle is first recognized in default state of 0º, it repeats in the order of 0º- 360º -180º - 360º - 0º - 180º.

 

Accordion

This option is for applying accordion pleats.
The inner curve angle is first recognized in default state of 0º, it repeats in the order of 0º - 360º.

Folding Angle

Start The start is the angle applied to the inner curve when it is first recognized.
End The end is the value that responds to this. The sum of start and end will always be 360º to make pleats patterns flat.
Flip This function is for flipping the start and end values.
Reset This function is for resetting to default values.

 

Reverse Direction

Pleats Angle applies angles sequentially depending on the selected order.
Here, you can reverse the selected order when selecting Reverse Direction.
