Overview
Offset is a function that maintains the length and direction of lines/ curves and creates lines/ curves based on the entered value.
Location
2D View > Line / Curve > Context Menu > Offset to Inner Line
2D View > Outline > Context Menu > Offset Outline
2D View > Inner Curve / Outline > Context Menu > Offset Distribution
Operation Method
Offset to Inner Line
- Select the curves in Curves/Points Selection Mode.
- Right-click on the curves to open the context menu, then select Offset To Inner Line.
- Set the distance and number of inner curves in the Offset to Inner Line Dialog Box, then click OK to create.
Offset Outline
- Select the curves in Curves/Points Selection Mode.
- Right-click on the outline to open the context menu, then select Offset Outline.
- Set the distance and number between outlines in the Offset Outline Dialog Box, and click OK to create.
※ Note: When creating offset outlines, the outermost curves will be the final outline even if multiple curves are created.
Offset Distribution
- Select two curves simultaneously in Curves/Points Selection Mode.
- Right-click on the selected ****curves to open the context menu, then select Offset Distribution.
- Set the number and accuracy of the offset between two curves in the Offset Distribution Dialog Box, then click OK to create.
※ Note: When the lengths of two curves are different, the middle length will be automatically created depending on the set length.
Components
Offset to Inner Line
Offset to Inner Line is a function that creates multiple inner curves along the desired length and direction entered while maintaining the same distance between each inner curve.
-
Distance
Distance is a function that sets the distance of extended offsets.
-
Count
Count is a function that extends offsets by a set number of times, with the same length in between each offset.
-
Stitch
Stitch is an option that creates stitches into the shape of offsets.
Enabling it creates stitches into offsets, disabling it turns the offsets into inner curves.
-
Extend
Extend is an option that cuts and creates new offsets to fit the outline of the surface.
Offset Outline
Offset Outline is a function that maintains the length and direction of outlines while creating outlines along the outside surface, depending on the entered value.
-
Distance
Distance is a function that sets the distance of extended offsets.
-
Count
Count is a function that extends offsets by a set number of times, with the same length in between each offset.
-
Total Distance
Total Distance is a function that shows the final distance of the extended outline in Distance x Count values.
-
Activate Inner Line
Activate Inner Line is an option for selecting the status of curves used for the offset outline. This option decides whether to keep the curves as an activated inner line or a deactivated inner line.
-
Type
-
Perpendicular
Perpendicular is an option to expand outlines vertically.
-
Expand
Expand is an option for maintaining and expanding outlines at the same angle.
-
Mirror
Mirror is an option for expanding outlines in a mirrored manner.
-
Offset Distribution
Offset Distribution is a function for maintaining the length and direction of the two curves and creating an inner curve according to the entered value between the curves.
-
Count
Count is a function for setting the number of offsets between two curves.
-
Accuracy
Accuracy is a function for setting the accuracy for generating offsets. You can find the most optimal accuracy value according to the count by adjusting the accuracy.
-
Straight
Straight is a function to forcefully changes the offset created between two curves.
-
Extend
Extend is an option that cuts and creates new offsets according to the outline of the surface.
