Overview
The Curve tool is used to draw curves, lines and figures directly in the 2D view. Segments can be drawn with a minimum of two points, and a figure can be drawn with a minimum of three segments.
Location
2D View > 2D Menu > Curve (Q)
2D View > Curve > Context Menu > Separate from Surface
2D View > Curve > Context Menu > Make Inner
2D View > 2D Menu > Surface
2D View > Curve > Context Menu > Active
Operation Method
Inner Curve
- Click on the 2D menu, and select Curve
- Click on a point on the surface in 2D view to create a start point.
- Click on another point to create a line, then drag the line to create a curve.
- Draw your desired shape, then press Enter or right-click to complete an inner curve.
Outer Curve
- Click on the 2D menu, and select Curve.
- Click on a point in the empty space outside the surface in 2D view to create a start point.
- Click on another point to create a line, then drag the line to create a curve.
- Draw your desired shape, then press Enter or right-click to complete an outer curve.
Surface
- Click on the 2D menu, then select Curve.
- Open the 2D view, and add a start point by clicking on a space.
- Create three or more points, then return to the start point to close the segment and create a pattern.
Components
Outer Curve | Outer curve refers to curves and lines on the outside of surfaces. It can be selected in All / Curves Selection Mode. It appears as a black solid line in 2D view. |
Inner Curve | Inner curve refers to curves and lines on the inside of surfaces. It can be selected in All / Curves Selection Mode. It appears as a blue, yellow or purple solid line according to the angle in 2D view. |
Outline | Outline refers to curves and lines on the outside of surfaces. It can be selected in All / Curves Selection Mode. It appears as a solid black line in 2D view with the surface filled inside the outline. |
Active | Deactivated curves can only be selected through Deactivated Selection Mode. Therefore, it can be used as a base line when changing the surface to make patterns. It appears as a green solid line in 2D view. Curves / lines and surfaces can be disabled in Activate (Shift+A) / Deactivate (Shift+D). |
